Tournament Date / Format: February 25, 26 and 27, 2010 and the format will be eight (8) teams tournament. Each team will play three (3) games (weather permitting).
Participating teams: (We will be taking the first eight teams to commit to the tournament)
Uniform: Participating teams must have regulation baseball uniforms. Coaches should be in coaching uniform.
Size of tournament: School may bring an unlimited number of players accompanied by authorized coaching staff. Names of players and coaches must be listed on the official tournament roster. Roster due at Waimea High School’s Athletic Director, Jon Kobayashi or Kelly Robinson @
waimea12@hawaii.rr.com, no later than February 01, 2010.
Rules
National Federation Baseball rules will govern tournament play.
Modification and Clarification:a. All games will be seven (7) innings with a two (2) hour, fifteen (15) minutes time limit.
b. Ten (10) run rule after 4 ½ innings will be in effect for all games except the championship game.
c. No inning limitations on pitchers.
d. Appeal plays must be made directly to the umpire.
e. NO PROTEST OF GAMES. UMPIRE’S DECISION IS FINAL.
f. One (1) minute warm-up between innings will be enforced by the umpire.
g. After the first day of the tournament play, if games that have no bearing on the tournament championship, but have a bearing on the tournament schedule for the following day (loser’s bracket) end in a tie, the team with the most hits will be accommodated the win. If each team has equal amount of hits, a coin flip will take place.
h. No more than seven (7) minutes will be allowed for infield practice for each team before the start of the games on Thursday. There will be no infield practice on Friday and Saturday’s games.Housing: All teams are responsible for their own housing. If assistance in housing is needed, please write to Jon Kobayashi at Waimea High School, no later than February 01, 2010, or call Kelly Robinson at 645-0663 (cell). If housing is provided, please bring your own sleeping bags, air mattresses, cots and/or mats.
Transportation: All teams will provide for their own transportation, air / ground.
