Keisha Kanekoa hit the game-winning shot on a running jumper with three seconds left to lift Honokaa to a 49-48 win over Iolani in the third-place game of the 2007 Hawaiian Airlines HHSAA Division I Girls Basketball Championship Friday at the Stan Sheriff Center.

The Dragons entered the fourth quarter down by six points, but went on a 10-2 run to start the period to take the lead. The teams went back-and-forth in the final four minutes, with the final outcome in doubt until Jamie Smith’s shot at the buzzer fell short. Smith led the Raiders with 18 points, 10 rebounds and five assists, while Kanekoa capped a phenomenal week with 26 points, seven assists and six rebounds.

Honokaa finished the year at 15-4, while Iolani closed out the season with a 12-4 mark.
