HHSAA BOWLING: Hawaii Baptist boys, Mililani girls crowned bowling state champs

The Hawaii Baptist boys bowling team rolled their way to a second-consecutive state crown in the 2007 Billy Tees/HHSAA bowling state championships at Hilo Lanes.  This is the third state title for the Eagles in four years.  The two-day tournament began Nov. 1 with two sessions of three games each and concluded Nov. 2 with the final morning session.  The Eagles were lead by Cody Gibo, who recorded a total pin fall of 1,772, placed fourth in the individual competition.  Teammates Sean Arakaki and Ethan Kawada finished seventh (1,724) and tenth (1,716), respectively.

Claiming the boys individual championship was Roosevelt’s Justin Kanda with a total score of 1,817.

On the girls’ side, Kalani’s Dara Ajimine claimed the individual title with 1,747, leading the way for a second place finish for her team.  The Falcons recorded a total score of 7,905 but that wouldn’t be enough to outscore Mililani.

Mililani claimed the team championship with a total score of 7,998.  Waiakea placed third with 7,759
