KIF FOOTBALL: Kaua‘i defeats Waimea, 24-13

LIHU‘E - Junior running back Paleku Yasay's fourth quarter 11-yard cutback scamper gave the Red Raiders the lead for good and a Trey Shimabukuro-to-Sheldon Sakai post route score clinched a see-saw 24-13 Kaua‘i High School homecoming decision over a very determined Waimea Menehune squad (3-4-1 overall, 2-3-1 KIF) Friday evening at a rain-soaked Antone K. Vidinha, Jr. Stadium on the Garden Island.

With the win, the Red Raiders improved to 7-0 overall and 5-0 in Kaua`i Interscholastic Federation play.

Kaua`i has a chance to close out the KIF regular season with an undefeated record as they travel to the Kapa`a New Town Park next Friday, November 7th, for a clash with the Warriors (1-5-1 overall, 0-4-1 KIF).

In junior varsity action, Waimea (6-0) closed out it's unbeaten season with a 10-7 decision over the Red Raiders (2-3).
