Saint Louis selected to play in the GEICO State Champions Bowl Series December 21 on ESPNU

The 2019 HHSAA Division I-Open state champion Saint Louis Crusaders have accepted an invitation to play in the GEICO State Champions Bowl Series, announced earlier today by Paragon Marketing Group via Twitter and Instagram @WhosNextHS. This year’s games are slated for December 20th and 21st in Las Vegas, Nevada, and will be televised live on ESPNU.

“Congratulations to Saint Louis School for being selected for this honor,” said HHSAA Executive Director Chris Chun. “This bowl game provides national exposure of Hawaii high school football and is a win for our state. Thank you to ESPN and Paragon Marketing Group for this tremendous opportunity for Saint Louis School.”

Under the guidance of head coach Cal Lee, Saint Louis (12-0) claimed their fourth-straight HHSAA Open Division state title with a 45-6 win over Kahuku Friday night at Aloha Stadium. The Crusaders are nationally ranked #6 by USA Today High School Sports and #7 by MaxPreps. Lee is in his 27th season as a high school head coach.

The 2019 GEICO State Champions Bowl Series features highly ranked state high school football champions competing against one another in two separate matchups. St. Louis will play on December 21st against a yet to be determined opponent. The remaining participants will be announced after state champions have been crowned in mid-December.  In addition to Hawaii, teams from Arizona (AIA), Florida (FHSAA), Georgia (GHSA), Nevada (NIAA), Utah (UHSAA) and Washington (WIAA) are eligible to participate.
